It Has Been A While - Hope you are all enjoying Summer

Hello Everyone

I know it has been a while since my last (and only) blog post since creating my website.

Catching up...  I spent 10 days in the Pacific Northwest in April visiting family and seeing the sights..some old some new.

I participated in 2 new art exhibitions this summer. The Summer Daze show which is still currently up through Nov 2,  located inside of the Business Center of La Mesa is presented all throughout the building (both floors) on the walls and in the conference rooms. There is quite of variety of art so I would like to encourge those of you who were not able to attend the opening on August 15, 2015 to stop by the Business Center ... you can just come in and tell them that you are here to view the art show. The hours of the Business Center are 9am to 4pm M-F. The address is 7317 El Cajon Boulevard, La Mesa CA.  The gallery is called The Art Connection. it is about 1 block past 73rd on the south side of the street.  I have 5 paintings in this show.

The other show which is now closed was the  summer C Note Show presented by the San Diego Art Institute located in Balboa Park. Two of my paintings now have new owners!

How many of you have spent time at the beach, or camping, or just outdoors this summer?  I took a lot of photos when I visited the local beaches and botanical gardens here recently...(reference material for future paintings)

Sept 1, 2015 I will begin an art challenge "30 Paintings in 30 Days" There are about 700+ artists signed up to participate in this.  If you are interested in participating you can go to www.30paintingsin30days.weebly.com and sign up.  Also I will be posting the website where you will be able to view the art that is produced in the challenge. Artists will be posting their work daily. It should be fun! and..I am looking forward to the challenge. Last time I painting 15 paintings...the challenge is more about pushing yourself, exploring new mediums, techniques and just getting into the groove of painting every day.  I have been exploring abstract forms and texture in my latest paintings. You can see some of them if you will click on my "Works" tab on the website. I plan to post more very soon!

Looking ahead: Fall colors and hopefully cooler temperatures, and football and if the weather experts are right... El Nino is coming..which should bring much needed rain to southern California.  I have to stock up on sand bags  (sigh)

 November 21, 2015 (opening reception)

There is another art exhibit planned at The Art Connection on Nov 21.  Details will be posted when I know more. If you live in the San Diego area or will be in town on that date...I hope you will stop in.. if you like to give holiday gifts to family and friends and appreciate original art...you should consider putting this show on your list of places to shop.

Thats all I have for now... please feel free to comment or write in. I am still a novice at blogging...
